How does mobile car detailing differ from in-shop detailing services?
DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE FOR MY AUTO DETAILING VISIT?
Please remove all non-essential personal items (e.g., bags, blankets, children's toys) from the areas to be cleaned before your visit. Our technicians will text you when they are on their way. Prior to their arrival, inform them of any access codes or procedures for gated driveways or communities. Ensure you are available to hand over the keys or arrange a safe place to leave them if using contactless service.
DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN WATER AND ELECTRICITY FOR THE DETAILING SERVICE?
Dominican Auto Spa vans come fully equipped with water and electricity. However, for larger vehicles, certain conditions, or extended service times, we may need to use your water supply. Our technicians will use their own hose and disconnect any existing hose from your spigot. Typically, we won’t need to use your electrical outlets, as our on-board generators are sufficient for all tasks.
HOW LONG DOES A CAR DETAILING APPOINTMENT TYPICALLY TAKE?
Service times vary based on the vehicle's size and condition. Generally, an Essentials or Deluxe Detail takes about 1.5 to 3 hours per vehicle. Our Superior Detail may take longer, especially if the paint requires extra attention.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY OF MY SCHEDULED CAR DETAIL?
We dislike weather disruptions, but they can occur. Since weather is unpredictable and forecasts aren't always accurate, we wait until the day of your appointment to decide if rescheduling is necessary. If we need to reschedule, we will notify you immediately by call, text, or email and arrange the next available appointment that suits you.
DO YOU OFFER INTERIOR-ONLY DETAILING? WHAT IF THE SERVICE I NEED ISN'T INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGES?
Our packages cover both interior and exterior detailing, but we can provide a custom quote if you need interior-only detailing. For services not listed in our packages, please text or email photos of your vehicle's interior so we can accurately assess, and quote based on its condition. Would it be best to schedule a car detailing or an SUV detailing for my vehicle?
If your auto manufacturer classifies your vehicle as an SUV, please schedule it accordingly. For example, a Toyota RAV4 is considered an SUV. Vans should also be booked under the SUV/Truck/Van option. Additionally, for extra-large vehicles, we provide an XL option during booking.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL MY DETAILING APPOINTMENT?
We understand that life can be unpredictable. Should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, kindly reach out to us with a minimum of 72 hours’ notice. Our team depends on these appointments for their livelihood, so providing adequate notice allows us to fill your spot with another client. Cancellations made within the 72-hour window will result in a $50 fee per vehicle canceled. This fee is divided among the affected employees who are unable to work due to the cancellation(s).
DO CAR DETAILERS EXPECT TIPS?
It is not mandatory, but it is advisable for customers to tip between 10-20% based on their satisfaction with the service. There is no standard tipping practice in this sector, but all tips are 100% given to the detailers. Tips can be made via your card payment, CashApp, or Zelle.
IS WAXING MY CAR NECESSARY?
Waxing your car helps protect its exterior and enhances its gloss. It adds a layer of protection to the paint and clear coat, shielding it from UV rays, acid rain, dust, and other contaminants. Most experts recommend waxing your car every three to four months.
WHAT DOES A CLAY BAR TREATMENT INVOLVE?
​Using a clay bar on your car’s paint enhances its finish and smoothness. Over time, your vehicle collects dirt, tar, and other pollutants, which can damage the paint if not removed. Regular washing isn't enough to eliminate these contaminants, so a clay bar treatment is necessary before applying wax or sealant.
A clay bar, with its putty-like texture, works with a lubricant to lift impurities from the paint's surface. At Dominican Auto Spa, our technicians use circular motions to remove embedded grime, ensuring the clay bar doesn't damage the paint. However, improper use can cause swirl marks, so professional application is recommended. Experts suggest clay barring your car at least twice a year to maintain its shine, though more frequent treatments are beneficial.
